Product Manager Intern
Every schedule Quinyx builds has to obey the law. Working time rules, collective agreements, rest periods, overtime thresholds, all at once. Getting it right is the difference between a system employers trust and one they don't. We're looking for a Product Manager Intern to spend six months in the middle of that challenge.
About the role
You'll join one product squad with engineers, a designer and a product manager, working on the compliance and labour rules side of the Quinyx platform. Not observing it. In it, as a member of the team, with work that has your name on it.
This is a real product management internship, not a fetch-and-carry one. Over six months you'll run discovery on a genuine compliance problem, take a small feature from question to launch, and build a picture of how a part of our product is actually used that changes what the team decides to do next.
It is also, deliberately, a hard place to start. Labour compliance is dense, regulated and full of edge cases that matter enormously to the people affected by them. You will not understand it in week one. Nobody does. What we're looking for is someone who finds that interesting rather than off-putting.
What you'll do
Own discovery on defined compliance problems, talk to customers and users, gather the evidence, and come back with a recommendation the team acts on
Take a small feature end to end: define the problem, write the spec, work with engineering and design through the build, and see it live for users
Build and own the usage picture for a part of the compliance product, how it's really used, where it breaks down, and feed that into what the tem prioritizes
Work in the open with your team: stand-ups, refinement, planning, demos, the lot
Learn the domain properly with labour law logic, collective agreements, how our customers actually run their operations
What we're looking for
We care about what you can do and how you think, not what's on your transcript.
The ability to take a broad, messy problem and cut it into something you can actually start on
Genuine comfort with detail, you're the person who reads the exception in the footnote and works out what it means
A habit of checking rather than assuming: you go and ask, look at data, and change your mind when the evidence says so
The ability to explain what you've found to people who know more than you, clearly enough that they act on it
Fast learning in unfamiliar territory, with the confidence to ask the basic question in a room of experts
Working proficiency in English (our product and engineering language)
You're currently studying, or have recently finished studying, and can commit to six months full-time in Stockholm
Nice to have
Any exposure to how workforce scheduling, payroll, HR or labour law works in practice, including from having worked a shift-based job yourself
Experience turning data into a recommendation someone acted on such as a thesis, a student project, a part-time role
Having built or shipped something, in any capacity, with other people
Comfort with using AI tools to work faster and think better
The kind of person who does well here
Regardless of background, it is the person that matters. For this role we think you are:
Curious about complicated things. Rule systems, edge cases and "why is it like this?" are interesting to you, not tedious
Self-directed. You'll be supported, but nobody will hand you a task list every morning
Willing to be wrong in public. You'd rather test an idea early and find out it's flawed than defend it to the end
Precise because in compliance, "roughly right" is wrong
Straightforward. You say what you think, ask when you don't know, and follow through on what you said you'd do
