TL;DR: Lead the teams building the future of workforce management. Quinyx is hiring an Engineering Director to report directly to our CTO and co-own the roadmap for a core product area. You will lead a distributed team of roughly 40 engineers, own your P&L, and spearhead our AI transformation. We need a strategic, commercially minded leader who can build high-performing cultures and drive real business impact in a high-growth SaaS environment.
🎯 About the role
The Engineering Director is one of our most senior and impactful leadership positions. Reporting directly to the CTO and sitting as a core member of the Senior Engineering Leadership Team, you will co-lead a product area alongside a Product Director - jointly accountable for its strategy, roadmap, and delivery.
You will lead a group of multidisciplinary delivery teams across multiple offices and geographies, providing technical vision, engineering direction, and a culture of excellence. With a team of 40 engineers, you will be a key voice in shaping how Quinyx builds and delivers world-class workforce management software.
This role is for someone who thinks strategically and acts decisively - a leader who is as comfortable in a board-level conversation about P&L impact as they are mentoring an engineering manager or driving a technical architecture decision.
As Engineering Director, you will be a champion and architect of Quinyx’s AI journey - not just adopting tools, but fundamentally transforming how our engineering teams operate, innovate, and deliver value.
📝 What you’ll do
Be a core member of the R&D Senior Management Team, co-owning the product area roadmap with the Product Director - balancing short and long-term goals, challenging product proposals, and contributing to decisions that span the whole organisation.
Work closely with the CTO to shape Quinyx's engineering vision, contributing to technical strategy, platform direction, and the company's growth agenda.
Oversee all development initiatives within the product area, defining best practices, KPIs, and scalable delivery processes that ensure high-quality output across geographically distributed teams.
Champion engineering quality at every level - from architecture and code standards through to deployment, reliability, and operational performance.
Lead, mentor, and develop your engineering managers and senior engineers, managing resourcing, resolving conflicts, and fostering a high-performance culture grounded in trust and accountability.
Own the budget for your engineering function and build cohesion across distributed and offshore teams - ensuring everyone feels connected to the mission.
Accountable for your product area's contribution to Quinyx's P&L, partnering across Product, Design, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure engineering is a strategic enabler of growth — including cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
✅ What we’re looking for
A proven track record leading large engineering organisations in a high-growth SaaS environment, with deep experience across the full software development lifecycle and strong budget management skills.
Genuine enthusiasm for AI and emerging technologies, with practical experience or a clear plan to harness them to transform engineering productivity and product quality.
